Howling Halloween Ahead As Storm Aiden Brings Weather Warnings

Met Eireann has issued two status orange wind warnings for tomorrow as Storm Aiden is set to make landfall.

An alert for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Waterford, Cork and Kerry will come into effect from 5am until 10am with gusts of up to 130 kilometres per hour expected.

Meanwhile, the same alert will be extended to Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Clare and will run from 8am until 4pm.

The rest of the country will be under a status yellow wind warning with severe gusts possible from 1am until tomorrow afternoon.

Storm Aiden To Be Felt In-Land

Liz Walsh, Meteorologist with Met Eireann, says Storm Aiden will make landfall at 5am.

"From 5am we are looking at very strong winds starting to occur in Kerry and Cork and then those winds will gradually get strong and spread."

Ms Walsh said the effect of Storm Aiden will be felt in last also.

"There will also be strong winds inland in some parts of Limerick and across to Tipperary," she said.
