Dogs Trust Say Owners Are Giving Up Pets After 'Pandemic Puppy Boom'

They've been helping abandoned pets since 2005. 

The pet charity Dogs Trust has been receiving about 8 calls a day from owners giving up pets.

They say there was a 'pandemic puppy boom' as people worked from home.

A lot of owners aren't just giving up their pets as things reopen.

Those who are back in the office are saying their pet have suffered from anxiety being left at home on their own.

Owners are struggling to deal with their dogs abandonment issues.

Ciara Byrne of Dogs Trust Ireland says to look out for abnormal behaviour.

"Toileting in the house or destructive behaviour," can be signs your pet is anxious.
