Luas services will end one hour earlier than usual tonight to facilitate engineering works.

The change affects both the Red and Green Line, and means the final trams out of town will leave between 10:50 and 11:30pm.

Sunday morning services will start 2 hours later than normal on the Red Line and 3 hours later than usual on the Green Line.

The first tram into the city on the Red line leaves at 9am, while the first tram inbound on the Green Line is due to depart just before 10am.

It comes as restrictions on hospitality ease, causing general confusion around a lack of public transport.

The weekend late-night bus routes were cancelled in December in line with the limited trading hours for hospitality.

Fine Gael Councillor Colm O'Rourke says Dublin Bus have confirmed the Nitelink will not be in operation until further notice.

O'Rourke says this service is needed to help the nighttime economy to recover.

"The priority for Dublin Bus going forward should be 24 buses service on all routes, but I think we need to start with this, to help our economy recover in Dublin."
