Covid-19: 75 Additional Deaths And 1,318 New Cases

The Department of Health has been notified of 75 deaths related to Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

48 of those deaths occurred this month, 27 in January and 2 occurred before that.

The median age of those who died is 84, with the age range between 34 and 100.

Meanwhile, the Department has also been notified of 1,318 new cases of the virus.

622 of today's cases are identified in men while 688 are in women.

Most people -58% - are under 45 years of age.

The median age is 45 years old.

Most of today's cases were identified in Dublin, where there is 428 new cases.

Elsewhere, there are 122 cases in Cork, 93 in Galway, 78 in Kildare and 77 in Limerick.

The remaining 520 cases are spread across all other counties

Meanwhile, there have been 74 additional hospitalisations in the past twenty-four hours.

In total, there are 1,284 Covid-19 patients in hospitals - 188 of whom are in intensive care.

Meanwhile, the HSE has announced that the daily vaccination numbers will be reported from next week

The latest update shows just under 58,000doses have been administered in the last week - around 8,000 per day.
