There are 398 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Ireland.

Only 23 Covid patients are in intensive care - which is the lowest this year.

A total of 70 patients are in hospital with the virus.

As of Tuesday, the country's 14-day incidence rate was 113 per 100,000 people - with Limerick by far the highest at 442.

In the past two weeks, more than 3 in 5 cases of Covid-19 were identified in people under the age of 35.

The HSE has confirmed that over-30s should know when they can register for a vaccine by the end of next week while over-50s will be able to attend a pharmacy to receive a single shot Johnson and Johnson jab.

This news comes while the largest hospital in the country, St James's in Dublin, has no inpatients receiving Covid treatment.

It's the first time staff there have not had Covid patients since March 2020.

The Health Minister, Stephen Donnelly, has described it as "really great news."
