The Department of Health are reporting an additional 3,138 cases of Covid-19 in Ireland today.

643 people are in hospital with the virus, 119 of these are in ICU.

It comes following warnings that cases could sore as high as 200,000 in December alone.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ronan Glynn, says the public must look to booster vaccines to prevent another surge.

Over half a million booster Covid vaccines have now been administered.

New figures show nearly 517,000 were given out by yesterday.

33,000 were administered yesterday alone - to over-60s and immuno-compromised people.
