Covid-19: 30 Additional Deaths And 311 New Cases

The Department of Health has confirmed 30 additional death linked to Covid-19.

12 deaths occurred this month, 13 happened in February, 4 in January and  one is under investigation.

As of midnight last night, there have been 311 confirmed new cases of the virus in Ireland.

64%  of today's cases are under 45 years of age.

The median age is 34 years old.

Most of today's cases were identified in Dublin, where there are 135  new cases.

Elsewhere, there are 29 new cases in Kildare, 21 in Cork, 18 in Limerick and 14 in Louth.

The remaining 94 cases are spread across all other counties.

Meanwhile, there have been 24 additional hospitalisations in the past twenty-four hours.

In total, there are 397 Covid-19 patients in hospitals - 95 of whom are in intensive care.

The 14 Day incident rate is 161.3 per 100,000 population.

As of Monday, 149,920 people have received both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.
