Aldi Appeals To People Who Have Lost Their Jobs In Recruitment Drive

Supermarket chain Aldi is launching a nationwide recruitment drive.

It is to ensure levels of service are maintained throughout the very challenging time ahead.

In particular they want to hear from people in the retail, catering and also the hospitality sector who may have lost their jobs in recent days.

In a statement it firstly says:

"At Aldi, we are actively preparing to supplement our 4,000-strong workforce."

"To ensure levels of service are maintained throughout the very challenging time ahead we will be launching a recruitment drive nationwide."

"Aldi is very conscious of many retail, catering and hospitality workers who have lost their jobs in recent days."

"We would be particularly open to hearing from you."

"Our recruitment team will be liaising with industry representative bodies."

"These include Retail Ireland, Irish Hotels Federation, Retail Excellence and the Restaurants Association of Ireland in this regard."

Commenting on the announcement, Aldi’s Group Buying Director John Curtin also said:

“Retail is going to be at the frontline of the battle against Covid-19 as we head into the weeks before us."

"We want to strengthen our team."

"We want to make sure we can play our part in this national effort"

"Equally, we are very conscious of being able to provide opportunities to some of the very many people who have lost their livelihoods, hopefully temporarily, through no fault of their own”.

Further details of its recruitment drive will be announced in the coming days.
