A nursing home in the west that has been hit with a major outbreak of Covid 19 .
The Dáil heard that one resident died after contracting the virus, while 25 out of 27 residents have tested positive.
Most nursing staff have also been infected along with healthcare assistants.
Speaking in the Dáil, TD for Roscommon-East Galway, Michael Fitzmaurice, said "The words they were told were 'don't worry, get agency staff'".
"There wasn't agency staff."
"The one nurse and one care assistant that hadn't tested positive worked 14 hours yesterday," he said.

HSE Say Nursing Home Staff Is Arranged
HSE Chief Operations Officer Anne O'Connor said cover has been arranged for the next three days.
"We now know that the rosters are covered."
"There is staff in place to provide support for the nursing home," she said.
Ms O'Connor also added that a dedicated manager is at the facility.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Stephen Donnolly said the HSE is doing all it can to improve the situation.
"These cases were detected through testing the HSE does, infection prevention and control teams were deployed."
"Serial testing is ongoing for all staff and residents were tested," he added.
