Ryan admits in the featurette that he was excited to create a film that his kids would watch.

"Detective Pikachu's got some sass, he's got some serious attitude."

"He's a larger than life character and he kind of has to be - he looks like a little yellow cotton ball."

"I try to bring as much personality out in the character as I possibly can."

They join forces and chase clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City.

The city is a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world.

Here, they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot.

A plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe.

Pokémon Detective Pikachu is out on the 10th of May.
