Derry Girls in self isolation

Saoirse Monica Jackson and Louise Harland have teamed up for a Derry Girls self isolation skit for Channel 4.

It shows them in character as Erin and Orla filming a home video in an airing cupboard.

Erin tells the camera, "This is the most important thing we've ever had to do. It's just such a massive responsibility."

Orla chimes in, "I made a wee man out of chewing gum."

Her frustrated cousin responds, "Focus Orla! This message, well it's vital."

The relatives hilariously argue back and forth with Orla asking random questions like, "Do lions yawn?"

Erin eventually gets to the point of this video message, "The year is 1996 and we're speaking from Derry, Northern Ireland."

"These are uncertain times. Peace negotiations have broken down and mass rioting engulfs our streets. The city is literally on fire."

She goes on, "We've been ordered to stay inside our homes by the authorities.

However, her speech is interrupted by Orla asking, "You mean our mammies?"

Erin goes on, "We've taken the brave decision to record our experience for future historians."

When the world goes back to normal

Erin says when the world goes back to normal, she'll walk outside and look, "at everything with new eyes."

"The sky, the sea, the mountains..." Orla interupts, "My toes..."

Erin looks puzzled, "What?" Orla admits, "I really miss my toes."

Erin assures her, "You can see your toes anytime Orla, they're attached to your feet."

She goes on to list the things she often took for granted including her family.

However, her cousin Orla makes it clear there's only one thing she took for granted - coco pops.

Meanwhile, Samuel L. Jackson has taken a slightly different approach in encouraging people to stay inside.

He's teamed up with author of Go The F**k To Sleep to write a poem called Stay The F**k At Home and it's hilarious.

Check it out here.
