Do they need any extras?

Netflix is looking to go into production for season 2 of Wednesday – and the plan is to film it in Ireland!

Now that the strikes in America have ended, the streaming service are eager to get to work on the next season of the show.

Season one was shot across six months in Romania, but it's been reported that there were logistical issues during filming that made them consider relocating.

Netflix will be keen to keep production issues to a minimum for future seasons of the horror comedy, as it's been such a massive success so far.

Over 252 million Netflix users have watched the complete first season, making it Netflix's biggest English-language show. So if Netflix choose to go ahead with filming in Ireland, it'll be a big deal.

The sets from Wednesday became a huge attraction in Romania so we could see a tourism boost from any filming in Ireland. It's expected that production begin in April 2024.

What will the next season bring?

While we don't know where exactly the storyline for the next season will lead, the show's star Jenna Ortega has said that it will move away from teen romance and more towards horror.

Meanwhile, it's been hinted by producers that we'll get a closer look at Wednesday's relationship with her mother.

Either way, we'll be watching the next season the first day it drops!
