The King Of Staten Island
Pete Davidson's new semi-autobiographical The King Of Staten Island has been pulled from movie theatres across the US.
Davidson teamed up with Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, Superbad) to bring the story of his New York upbringing to life.
However, the comedic drama was pulled just two days before it was due to land at a select number of theatres.
Not much of an explanation has been given to theatre owners, although bosses at Universal say it has always been planned for an on demand release only.

Variety is reporting that insiders at Universal blamed it on an internal misunderstanding.
Most of those affected are drive-in theatres, who have been able to stay open during the pandemic.
Owners have been left issuing refunds and scrambling for new movies to show after the mix up.
Judd Apatow took to Twitter to address the miscommunication saying, 'THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND IS ONLY OPENING ON VOD FRIDAY. IT IS NOT OPENING IN THEATERS.'

Earlier this year Universal made a similar move. In April they pulled the release of Trolls World Tour from cinema release to go straight to on demand.
The King Of Staten Island is available now to rent or buy on Google Play and Youtube.
