Some confusion has arisen this week around the ending of The Notebook.

Yesterday we reported that Netflix had edited the final scene of the iconic movie.

However, the streaming platform has taking to Twitter to clear things up.

"Apparently some films have more than one ending?!"

Netflix were supplied with an alternate version of the film, which was uploaded to the service.

They have since swapped this out for the ending we all know and love.

Movies with alternative endings

Having more than one ending is a popular occurrence with movies.

Some of our favourites include ET, Donnie Darko, Paranormal Activity, The Bourne Identity, Dodgeball, Pineapple Express, True Romance, and Titanic.

We all remember the ending for Titanic, Rose throwing the heart of the ocean overboard.

However, James Cameron filmed an alternative.

In the second ending Rose climbs along some rails before being spotted by Bill Paxton and her daughter.

The think the worst and hurry to help her.

Rose gives them a speech about how she had the diamond all along.

“Only life is priceless, and making each day count.”

From a height she throws the jewel into the sea, as crew members watch on.

One shouts, That really sucks, lady!”

Let's just say, they definitely made the right decision with ending number one!
