Love Island Is Set To Return This Summer With A 'Back Up Cast'

Love Island bosses plan to fly a 'back up cast' to Majorca

Love Island fans can rest easy as the hit TV show returns to Majorca for this summer’s instalment.

And now TV bosses are reportedly sending a backup cast alongside the main contestants to ensure the show can go ahead.

According to the Irish Mirror, the cast of Love Island will be doubled this season to ensure the show runs smoothly.

ITV bosses are reportedly sending a backup cast to the sunny Spanish Villa.

This is to prevent any interruptions to filming amid the pandemic.

Earlier in the year, it was reported that the show may be forced to film on UK shores.

As the show planned to follow in the footsteps of, I'm A Celeb.

With locations such as Cornwall and Devon in the running.

Now, showrunners are taking extra safety precautions to ensure the success of the show.

According to the Sun, ‘producers have watched shows like Dancing On Ice struggle during the pandemic’ and don't want to face the same fate.

We can't wait to meet the new cast but they'll have to follow strict new measures to keep the set covid safe.

Even spending several weeks isolating before filming begins.

Along with the extra covid measures the show is ensuring increased checks on contestant’s mental health.

Last year’s summer version of the show was cancelled due to the pandemic, with the winter series being filmed in South Africa.

ITV have yet to confirm this season's filming location but did confirm the shows return this summer.

Last week spin reported that Tinder was introducing a swipe right Love Island match as part of the 2021 casting process.
