James Corden has paid an emotional tribute to the late great, Betty White, on last nights Late Late Show.

The Hollywood legend, Betty White passed away peacefully in her sleep on New Year’s Eve at age 99.

In the heartfelt segment of the show, James Corden said, “Last week we lost a legend. Betty White was one of the funniest, kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in the time since I’ve been doing this show”.

“She was incredible, she radiated joy everywhere she went while keeping her razor-sharp sense of humour throughout her entire 99 years on this Earth”.

Betty Predicts James Corden's Success

James revealed that he was incredibly grateful to her when she appeared on the show in the very early days.

Betty mentioned to James how she’d read an interview in which he claimed he didn’t think his own show would be a success.

However, she insisted it would be a hit and that one day he would drive a Porsche down Sunset Boulevard.

Betty then presented James with a signed Porsche toy car, which he has since kept in his office to this day.

“She created some of the most memorable characters on television with a combination of humour and heart that was truly unique to her”.

James Corden then showed us some of the highlights from her appearances on the show along with the theme from the golden girls.

James concluded: “We love you, Betty. We’ll miss you so very, very much.”

The sincere moment is even more poignant as the show goes from strength to strength.

Back in December James celebrated his 1000th Episode of the Late Late Show, so Betty was right!

Betty had been preparing to celebrate her 100th birthday on January 17. Even gearing up for a planned theatrical event featuring tributes from a multitude of stars.

The event’s producers, Steve Boettcher and Mike Trinklein told The New York Post that the film will still premiere next month.

In the weeks prior to her death, Betty told People, “I’m so lucky to be in such good health and feel so good at this age, It’s amazing”.

RIP Betty White.
