Britney Spears has apologised to her fans for pretending she's okay, when she's not.

It follows the shocking revelations made in her recent court hearing on her conservatorship.

Taking to Instagram, the singer shared a picture of a quote which read, 'If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairytales.'

'If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairytales.'

In the caption, Britney wrote, 'I just want to tell you guys a little secret'

The court hearing

On Wednesday, Britney appeared in an L.A. court and pleaded with the judge to end her father's conservatorship.

Her dad, Jamie, has been in control of her affairs since 2008 after a series of public breakdowns.

Now, 13 years on, Britney, "just [wants her] life back."

Britney said, "My dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship, including my management - they should be in jail."

"It's not ok to force me to do anything I don’t want to."

"The conservatorship should end. I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive."
