Matthew McConaughey auditioned for the role of Jack in 'Titanic' back in 1997.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast he said, "I went and auditioned for that. I wanted that."
"I auditioned with Kate Winslet. Had a good audition. Walked away from there pretty confident that I had it. I didn't get it. I never got offered that."
The lead role of Jack went to Leonardo DiCaprio.
McConaughey and DiCaprio have since worked together on 'The Wolf of Wall Street'.
We just can't see anyone else playing the role of Jack as well as Leonardo.
