Madison began her career at the tender age of 12.

Sarina wanted to know how she's dealt with the sudden online interaction from fans all over the world.

She admitted she gets very, "overwhelmed," by the positivity.

"To put it into works, I've created a lot of boundaries for myself, I've created a much better relationship with myself."

"I'm not gonna let other people's opinions of me dictate who I am or what I think I am or how I feel about myself."

But she added that no matter how high she builds her walls, some comments still get to her.

Coping with the online hate

Madison admitted, "I still read things and I cry myself to sleep and I feel really sad."

"I'm also someone who really kind of reacts, I'm a reactive person and I haven't been able to turn that off for the past 10 years."

But the artist doesn't believe this is a bad thing.

She explained, "I tell all my fans and I tell anyone who listens to me speak, like you should always stand up for yourself."

"If you're in a room where you don't feel you're being respected... I feel like you should be able to stand up for yourself."

Although, the 22-year-old admitted that there are some things that aren't worth engaging with.

"I'll see things sometimes and I'm like, 'This is just wrong inherently, and the things you guys are saying about me are just wrong.'"

"The fact that you can sleep at night when you're saying such vile, horrible things about someone you don't even know is wrong."

"And it's actually like frightening to me, so I try to speak up when I can..."

Twitter rant

She recalled going on a bit of a Twitter rant about this exact issue the other day.

And she said, "If my tweets and my talking about it makes one less person press send on a hateful comment then I'm happy with that."

Madison also spoke about how difficult it was pursuing a career in the entertainment industry as a young woman.

She said she was often told she didn't know what she was talking about, and that her ideas weren't worth listening to.

It took Madison almost giving up to realise she needed to find her voice, and stand up for herself.
