Kevin Hart hits back at those criticising him for showing support for Jussie Smollett.

Jussie Smollett was reportedly attacked in Chicago by men shouting racist and homophobic slurs.

Kevin Hart is one of the many celebrities wishing him well on social media.

'This is unbelievably sad. Why are we going backwards....this is disgusting.'

Hart only recently faced backlash online for past homophobic tweets which had resurfaced.

Following the online abuse, he stepped down as host for this years Oscars ceremony.

He has since apologised for it and has said he's a changed man.

However, social media users refuse to let it go.

One Twitter user responds, 'your funniest joke congrats.'

It seems Kevin has had enough of the constant online abuse.

He writes, 'Do you want change? If so I am an example of what u want people to do...CHANGE!'

If you think this is the end of the Twitter feud, it's not.

Kevin sends the Twitter user one last message.

'@ira I don’t condone hate...I never have.'

The Oscars

When past homophobic Tweets resurfaced, Kevin refused to apologise stating that he had already previously addressed them.

Following the backlash he stepped down as host of the Oscars.

Stop looking for reasons to be negative...Stop searching for reasons to be angry....I swear I wish you guys could see/feel/understand the mental place that I am in. I am truly happy people....there is nothing that you can do to change that...NOTHING. I work hard on a daily basis to spread positivity to all....with that being said. If u want to search my history or past and anger yourselves with what u find that is fine with me. I’m almost 40 years old and I’m in love with the man that I am becoming. You LIVE and YOU LEARN & YOU GROW & YOU MATURE. I live to Love....Please take your negative energy and put it into something constructive. Please....What’s understood should never have to be said. I LOVE EVERYBODY.....ONCE AGAIN EVERYBODY. If you choose to not believe me then that’s on you....Have a beautiful day
