Yesterday, news broke that Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid had split.
Both Zayn and Gigi announced the news on their Twitter accounts, and each posted individual statements.
Zayn said that he and Gigi had an 'incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship' and that he has a 'huge amount for adoration for Gigi as a woman'.
He added that they both 'wish this news could have come from us first'.

In her own statement Gigi said 'Breakup announcements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years... not only in the relationship, but in life in general.'

The pair made headlines back in 2015 when they got together, not long after Zayn had split from Little Mix's Perrie. The band's hit 'Shout Out to My Ex' is said to have been inspired by her breakup with Zayn.
