The beloved Shrek character Donkey is finally getting his own spin off!
We already got a Puss in Boots spin off so its only fitting that the fan favourite gets his time to shine!
The story is set to follow the storyline of Donkey, his dragon wife and his donkey/dragon offspring with the rest being kept under wraps.
Eddie Murphy who voices Donkey revealed in an interview that they haven't actually wrapped up recording for Shrek 5 after the long awaited trailer was released back in February! Zendaya is one of the big stars that is set to feature in the sequel as Shrek and Fiona's daughter suggesting a major time jump in the storyline!
He also shed some light on how much the actors see each other during recording and it turns out they only meet on the red carpet!
Donkey has no release date just yet but production is set to start this September!
