Whenever we hear someone say, 'Okurrr,' we automatically think Cardi B.

Despite this fact, the US Patent and Trademark Office have declared that it is a 'widely used' phrase.

They say it's a, 'commonplace term, message, or expression widely used by a variety of sources...'

'That merely conveys an ordinary, familiar, well-recognised concept or sentiment.'

What does 'Okurrr' even mean?

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon last year, Cardi explained that the sound, 'is like a cold pigeon in New York City.'

It turns out there's a few different variations of the phrase depending, 'on the situation that you in.'

It looks like Cardi will have to get started on a new catchphrase.
