We didn't expect this to happen.
It looks like we may have a new album from Ariana Grande sooner than we expected!
Back in May 2022, Ariana had confirmed that she wouldn't even be thinking about making new music until after the Wicked films were finished.
She had explained in a YouTube video, "Literally the most incredible gift of my entire life is, you know, this role that I've adored since I'm 10 years old.
"And that is going to have every piece of me, every minute, every ounce of my heart, my time, my soul, my everything that I can give it."

But now, she's gone back into the studio much sooner than even she expected as production has been at a stand-still since July.
The film has had ten days of shooting left to be completed since the SAG-AFTRA strike began months ago.
With all this time on her hands, Ariana has decided to keep herself busy by creating new music.
She's reportedly been working with Max Martin in New York – but we can't expect to hear anything soon.

An insider told PageSix that "she doesn’t know when she’ll want to release" any new music because she wants to be "respectful" of Wicked.
"[She] originally didn’t want to do any music at all until after the films were released.”
