All eyes on you...

You've been bestowed the responsibility of organising the Christmas party and the pressure is on to provide a kick-ass affair for your co-workers.

No office wants the typical dinner/drinks combo. It's time to think outside the box and get the Christmas party of a lifetime organised.

Here are out top five alternative Christmas party ideas in Dublin.

1. The Stella

This gorgeous gem in Rathmines reopened its doors less than a month ago but it's fast-becoming an iconic Dublin landmark. Not only can you enjoy a classic film there, but you can book the theatre and/or the Stella Cocktail Club for private hire too. Perfect for a Gatsby-themed work 'do - just look at those chandeliers!

2. The Laughter Lounge

If it's a good giggle you're after, a Christmas party at the Laughter Lounge is a safe bet. They offer a festive cocktail reception, food for all tastes, seasonal decorations and of course, a host of comedians that'll leave you crying with laughter. The best part? It's probably the only Christmas party where good craic is guaranteed.

3. The Guinness Storehouse

It's not just for tourists - the Guinness Storehouse offers a Christmas party like no other. You can book out one of their suites or the Gravity Bar for the gang or avail of their festive dinner menus. The menu options include a Guinness or mulled wine reception, a guided tour of the grounds and a late bar with a DJ. Not too shabby.

4. La Peniche

What could be better craic than the work party on a boat? Grab the gang and cruise down along the canal. La Peniche gives you the option of a sit down meal, a buffet or canapes and you also have a choice of beers, wines and spirits in their full bar. It's ideal for a quirky Christmas party as you get the full barge to yourselves and you're just a quick trip away from the bustling Baggot Street for some apres-drinks.

5. Opium

Opium on Wexford Street has just reopened after a massive refurbishment during the summer and it is looking slick. They offer a cocktail masterclass for parties or you can hire out the stunning Botanical Garden area. Their Christmas party menu is mouth-watering. Think crab cakes, lemongrass chicken, Singapore noodles and prosseco. *drools*
