The President of the Student's Union at UCD has been impeached after a vote.

Over 6,600 students voted in the referendum, where they were asked if Ms Ascough should be removed from her position.

The vote was called after information about access to abortion services was removed from the college's 'Winging It' publication.

Ms Ascough, who's pro-life, had previously committed to maintaining the union's mandated stance of campaigning for a repeal of the 8th Amendment.

69 percent of students voted in favour of her removal.
