Cristiano Ronaldo’s club Juventus says he is available to play tomorrow, despite a rape allegation against him.
His coach says the footballer is "doing well" as he faces claims he assaulted a woman in 2009, which he denies.
Yesterday the club issued a statement in support of Ronaldo.
Many have since criticised the club for their harsh approach and lack of care.
Whatever the legal outcome, this is awful from Juventus: pic.twitter.com/3ZDNkscTdx— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) 5 October 2018
Frankly stunned at this from Juventus. Stunned and disgusted that a club would put out a statement that’s half a layer of varnish away from an outright ‘we don’t care’ pic.twitter.com/5xZumzHnfF— Chris Deeley (@ThatChris1209) 4 October 2018
Meanwhile Ronaldo's sponsors Nike and EA Sports say they're deeply concerned about allegations against the footballer.
They insist they're monitoring the situation closely and are taking the matter very seriously.
