There are reports two children are among more than 30 people that have been killed by the world's most powerful storm that's caused devastation in the Philippines.

At least 40 people - most of them gold miners - are trapped in a landslide in the Philippines.

Seven bodies have already been dug out by rescuers from the mountain slope which collapsed on the miners' bunkhouses in a remote village.

Typhoon Mangkhut's ferocious winds and rain pounded the gold-mining region in the north of the country yesterday.

Typhoon Mangkhut has now made landfall in southern China - packing winds of 100 miles per hour.

Half a million people have been told to leave seven cities in Guangdong province and it's caused mass flooding in Hong Kong.

The winds are literally swaying sky scrapers.
