In the early hours of this morning a motorbike accident occurred on the Old Cabra Road.
The incident happened at around 2.20am.
The rider of the motorbike, man in his 30s was prounounced dead at the scene.
The passeneger, a man in his 40s was taken to the Mater Hospital and his injuries are said to be serious.
A forensic examination has taken place and the strech of road has now re-opened to motorists.
