Bus journeys in Dublin take 70% longer during rush hour.
New figures from the National Transport Authority published in The Herald show commuters travelling from Malahide face the longest delays. People travelling that route face a 69% longer journey time at peak times compared to off-peak hours.
Here are the top ten slowest routes in the city:
2. Howth and Finglas
3. Lucan and Bray
4. Blanchardstown and Clondalkin
5. Stillorgan and Clontarf
6. North Clondalkin
8. Ballymun and Rathfarnham
The statistics suggest the main bus corridors in the city are being delayed because of the sheer volumes of cars on those routes.
The National Transport Authority will today outline a set of proposals aimed at improving bus services in the city.
