Harvey Weinstein Expelled From The Academy

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences held an emergency meeting last night.

It was about how to deal with the current scandal in Hollywood surrounding Harvey Weinstein.

Hollyoaks actress Lysette Anthony has become the fifth woman to publicly accuse Harvey Weinstein of rape.

She's told The Sunday Times newspaper it happened in the 1980s, while many others have claimed the Hollywood producer sexually assaulted or harassed them.

The organisation behind the Oscars have now expelled the film producer over the allegations made against him. 

In a statement the academy said Mr Weinstein "doesn't merit the respect of colleagues."

The allegations have led to him being sacked and his wife leaving him.
