CEO of Apple Inc Tim Cook had a lot of news to announce at last night's Apple Event. 

Speaking for the first time in the Steve Jobs Theater he unveiled two new iPhone models, updates for Apple Watch and Apple TV and wireless charging. 

 

iPhone X

Price: From €1179 - €1349

Release Date: Pre-order from October 27th. Official release November 3rd. 

New Features: Larger screen, wireless charging, water and dust resistant, facial recognition, updated cameras, more powerful microchip, iOS11.

Colours: Space gray, silver and gold.

The Big News: Face ID (facial recognition software) can be used instead for unlocking the phone and Apple ID. You can create your own Animoji, an animal emoji that mirrors over 50 of your facial expressions. 

 

iPhone 8

Price: From €829 - €1109

Release Date: Pre-order from September 15th. Official release September 22nd. 

New Features: Wireless charging, updated cameras, better screens, more powerful microchip, improved battery life, iOS11.

Colours: Space gray, silver and gold.

The Big News: The phone is made entirely from the world's most durable glass making it water and dust resistant. 

 

Apple Watch Series 3

Price: From €349

Release Date: Pre-order from September 15th. Official release September 22nd. 

New Features: Stream 40 million songs, call and text from your wrist, new designs, health and workout updates.

The Big News: Make calls and texts just using the watch.

 

Apple TV 4K HDR

Price: From €179

Release Date: Pre-order from September 15th. Official release September 22nd. 

New Features: HDR display, live stream news and sports, watch Netflix, Hulu and ESPN, Siri voice control, smart home capabilities. 

The Big News: 4K HDR gives a brighter, crisper picture.

 

AirPower Mat

Price: TBC

Release Date: 2018

The Big News: Wireless charging for multiple devices at once. Apple sees these charging mats being available in hotels, cafes and airports around the world.
