The number of people killed at Christmas Market in Berlin has risen to 12 with close to 50 more injured according to German Police.

Authorities believe the lorry was driven "intentionally" into one of Europe's biggest markets, while the White House says it appears to have been a terror attack.

The driver has been arrested, but no details have been released about him. Several German newspapers report that he "arrived in Germany last February as a refugee, either from Pakistan or Afghanistan".

According to SKY News, a man found dead in the lorry's cab was a Polish citizen. Police say he was not driving when the crash happened.

Have a look at this CNN footage of the scene.
