UPDATE 12:20 - No one has been injured in a avalanche at a Ski resort in France.

Police in Tignes near the Italian border had initially thought skiers had been buried under snow.

However all those involved have been taken to safety.

Last month four people were killed in an avalanche in the area.

An avalanche has hit a French ski resort this morning.

It comes less than a month after a similar disaster killed four people in the same area.

An eye witness says 'many people' are trapped under the snow.

The alert was given by police at 10.06am local time.
