Game of Thrones fans, you may need to add 'patience' to your Christmas list, as we've just heard some rather disappointing news.
Sophie Turner has just let slip that the grand finale won't be coming as soon as we originally thought. Turner, who plays Stansa Stark says season 8 is coming in 2019.
Speaking to Variety, she said 'I'm really excited. Game of Thrones comes out in 2019.'
But why is it taking so long? HBO President Casey Bloys claims it's due to the fact that producers want the finale to be 'cinematic.'
Bloys revealed to Entertainment Weekly, 'They have to write the episodes and figure out the production schedule. We'll have a better sense of that once they get further into the writing.'
Bloys added 'One of the hallmarks of the show has been how cinematic it is. The show has proven that TV is every bit as impressive and in many cases more so, than film. What they're doing is monumental.'
And, now we wait...
