Three juicy shows to get stuck into this week:
1) Rise of the Robots, Channel 4, All Week
Robot geeks will love this, not a single programme but an entire series all about robots airs on Channel 4 this week. 'The Robot Will See You Now' (Tuesday at 10pm), is all about a robot counsellor named Jess who uses AI to give relationship advice to people, in 'How To Build A Robot' (Wednesday at 10.35pm) inventor David McGoran shows us how we can make our very own robot and in 'The Sex Robots Are Coming' (Thursday at 10pm) the d ocumentary follows a company over two years as they try create a fully functioning sex robot, we also meet a man who can't wait to own one. The 'Harmony' doll is designed to be 'everything a man dreams of' and will apparently be available next year for £11,000.
2) Dark, Netflix from Friday
This is Netflix's first German original - set in a small rural village, dark secrets begin to emerge after two children go missing. We begin to discover that the disappearance is linked to events that happened 30 years ago. This looks so creepy and seems like a mash up between Stranger Things, the OA and The Sinner. Also, it has subtitles, so if you're not a fan of them, this might not be for you.
3) The Late Late Toy Show, RTÉ 1 Friday at 9.35pm
It's that time of year again, would ya believe?! Grab the jammies, Roses and tea and settle down for more madzer kids and musical numbers from Ryan Tubridy. Now ever year there is huge secrecy over the theme for the show- this year's trailer sees Ryan dressed as the Nutcracker. Ryan has also said that this year's theme "might well be Disney themed" and will contain "lots of slime". Mmm guess we'll have to wait till Friday to find out!
