Here are three programmes to get stuck into this week!
If you are into horror movies and all things spooky...you'll love this new series starting on Channel 4 this Thursday. In each episode we hear about a terrifying true horror story which is brought to life with dramatizations and testimonies from witnesses. In the first episode called Hellfire Farm an artist called Bill, his wife Liz and their young children encounter demonic activity in their farmhouse in rural Wales. Shortly after moving in, objects start moving around the house inexplicably, animals begin to die, his artwork stops selling and they are hit by scarily high electricity bills. STOP IT.
2) The Chalet, Netflix, from Tuesday
Continuing the horror theme this week...this new French made Netflix series tells the story of a group of friends who meet up in a remote chalet in the French Alps for a summer getaway however they soon find themselves trapped in a deadly battle for survival as dark secrets come to the surface. Looks very tense and creepy. It's also subtitled.
3) The Alienist, Netflix, from Thursday
Don't be fooled by the title -this is not another Netflix series about space or science fiction. It's actually a period drama set in New York in 1896 about the hunt for a serial killer. Alienist was actually a work for a criminal psychologist- the alienist in this series being played by German actor Daniel Bruhl. The cast also includes Luke Evans (Beauty and teh Beast, The Hobbit) as a newspaper illustrator and Dakota Fanning as a young secretary who wants to be the city's first female police woman. They get together to try and catch a murderer who is killing young male prostitutes in the city.
