However, we know that there are some of you who are avoiding any kind of emotions today like the plague, and that is OK. 

To help you along the way (in an Always Drink Responsibly way) we've got our hands on a recipe for Gin & Tonic Cake.

It comes from food blogger Jessica Merchant's website how sweet it is and looks DREAMY.

Here's what you'll need:

Cake Mix

3 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 3/4 cup granulated sugar

4 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/2 tablespoons freshly zested lime rind

1/4 cup gin

1/4 cup milk

juice of 1 lime

This is for one large 9×13 baking dish.

Gin Glaze

1 3/4 cups powdered sugar

5 tablespoons gin

the juice of 1 lime

Gin Icing

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

2-3 tablespoons gin

drop of vanilla extract
