We'll have the Shelbys back on our screens next Wednesday, as the show returns to the BBC for its fourth season.

There's speculation that the show's plans to end after season five might extend a little further.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the series creator Steven Knight has said 'We're all thinking that five will be the last one, but it's not set in stone. I don't want to be a hostage to that.'

Knight added 'I mean, I always hope we will get more. For all we know, we may even go beyond that. But for the moment, I'm pacing so that the next 12 hours will tell the rest of the story. I hope that, at the end of episode 6 of series 4, there will be a big surprise which will fire us off into series 5.'

Just last month, Cillian Murphy was asked if he would be interested in a Peaky Blinders movie.

Speaking to Esquire, Murphy said 'I think Knight has some ideas. You'd have to be careful, but I'd be curious to do it.'
