If you're midway through a binge-watch of the new season of Narcos, you might forget sometimes that there's a pretty real story behind it all.

The brother of infamous drug kingpin Pablo Escobar has warned Netflix to hire hit-men as security and warned anyone making a show about his brother in either Colombia or Mexico to get his permission first.

He also mentioned filming in certain areas can be very dangerous, especially without his blessing.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Roberto De Jesus Escobar Gaviria said “I don’t want Netflix or any other film production company to film any movies in Medellin or Colombia that relates to me or my brother Pablo without authorization from Escobar Inc. It is very dangerous."

This all comes after a film-maker who was looking for locations to film the show was shot dead in a remote area of Mexico last week.

Last year, he threatened to bring legal action against the show as well as demanding $1 billion for using Pablo Esciobar's image.

"If we don’t receive it, we will close their little show", he said.
