Oprah Winfrey is said to be 'actively considering' running for US President in 2020. This comes after she delivered a powerful speech at the 75th Annual Golden Globes, which received 3 standing ovations.
Oprah was collecting the honorary Cecil B. DeMille award for her outstanding contribution to the entertainment industry, when she revealed she wanted to 'express gratitude to all the women who have endured years of abuse and assault because they, like my mother, had children to feed, and bills to pay and dreams to pursue.'
She added that she had been 'inspired' by 'all the women who have felt strong enough and empowered enough to speak up and share their personal stories.'
Oprah urged women worldwide to believe that 'a new day is on the horizon.' If you missed it you can watch it back here. During it, and for hours after, social media was alight with the hashtag #Oprah2020.
According to two sources who have spoken to CNN anonymously, she's 'actively thinking' about it.
