Gossip – Live In Liverpool
2007 was the year for Gossip. A hybrid of soul, gospel, rock, funk, disco, punk, passion and rebellion, this three piece from Portland, Oregon first garnered attention in the Ireland with the release of the album Standing In The Way Of Control. The band is led by the inimitable Beth Ditto – larger than life, forthright, rebel rousing and infectious with a voice that has been compared to Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner. Gossip toured extensively throughout last year, covering the festival circuit in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan, cementing their reputation as one of the most exciting live bands around.
“Live In Liverpool” is the first international release for Gossip on Columbia Records and a new studio album is planned for the end of the year.
