After the hugely successful album, ‘Confessions’, Usher is back with his new album ‘Here I stand.’ With a new wife and son, Ushers outlook in life has changed. He has matured which is reflected in the lyrics of his new songs. He deals with having a child, getting married and leaving his old life behind in songs such as ‘prayer for you’, ‘lifetime’ and ‘before I met you.’

 

But don’t despair, Ushers boyish side which we all know and love  is still shown through songs such as ‘Appetite’, ‘What’s a man to do’ and the hit single ‘Love in this club.’

Dealing with loving two different women at the same time and the boredom that develops in marriage.

 

‘Here I Stand’ is full of slow jams, a new side to ushers personality which produces good songs but we miss the old Usher and his complicated love life and want that element of his old songs back.

 

Spin says: ‘Confessions’ was always going to be a difficult album to follow up and ‘Here I stand’ makes a good effort but doesn’t reach the same heights. Still well worth a listen though!!
