“Forgetting Sarah Marshall” is a U.S romantic comedy written by Jason Segel (who also stars in the movie) and produced by the same people who brought us other hit comedies such as “Knocked Up” and “Superbad”.
Devastated by his recent break up with T.V star Sarah Marshall (Kristin Bell), Peter Bretter (Segel) decides to take a short vacation alone in Hawaii. Unfortunately upon arrival he discovers his recent ex has had the same idea and brought along her new rock star boyfriend played by the U.K comedian Russell Brand.
Heart broken, Peter begins his holiday in the sun drinking alone in his room and crying loudly causing the hotel guests to complain. Just when things could not get any worse, peter discovers a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of the hotel receptionist Rachel (Mila Kunis). This new relationship opportunity takes his mind off his ex girlfriend of five years and Peter begins to enjoy his holiday, but jealousy sets in, causing a rift between the two couples as Peter discovers that “forgetting Sarah Marshall” may be more difficult than he had hoped.
