Michelle Williams Married Phil Elverum In Secret

Michelle Williams has opened up about her secret wedding. 

She revealed the news in the latest issue of Vanity Fair. She told the publication that she married musician Phil Elverum in a small, private ceremony in the Adirondack mountains, surrounded by close friends and family. 

Michelle called their relationship 'very sacred and very special.' Both Phil and Michelle lost previous partners. 

Michelle lost Heath Ledger in 2008 to an overdose, and Phil's wife Geneviève Castrée passed away in 2016 following a cancer battle. 

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Michelle said 'I never gave up on love. I always say to Matilda, your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes.'

Michelle opened up about finding love again with Phil.

'Ultimately, the way he loves me is the way I want to live my life on the whole. I work to be free inside of the moment. I parent to let Matilda feel free to be herself, and I am finally loved by someone who makes me feel free.'

She added that she hopes everyone finds the love that she's found. 

'Don't settle. Don't settle for something that feels like a prison, or is hard, or hurts you. If it doesn't feel like love, it's not love.'
