The family of world renowned artist, Kurt Cobain, are attending an exhibition of his belongings held in Co. Kildare.

His sketches, hand-written lyrics, clothes and a powder blue 1965 Dodge Dart, the only car he ever owned, will all be on display for the exhibition.

According to the Irish Mirror, Cobains mother Wendy O’Connor, sister Kim Cobain and daughter Frances Bean Cobain all attended the exhibition because they felt it showed exactly how ''silly, goofy and sweet'' the artist was.

His mother also said, “I think it shows who he really was, the real person inside before he got famous.”

It doesn't come as a surprise that the exhibition would be held in Ireland, after all the singer does have Irish roots.

According to the Irish Mirror, Cobains sister Kim had said:

“We just wanted to bring him back to where he came from and the person that he really was as a child and try to focus more on his art and him and to show people just how silly, goofy and sweet he was.''

You can find all the pictures from the exhibition here.
