It has been three years since Katy Perry released an album, and the world is getting very impatient.
But luckily for fans, it is looking like there is a new album from the global sensation on the way and we have details!

With just only three months left of this year, fans are wondering if the follow-up to 'Prism' is actually on the way at all.
According to reports from 'Billboard' in May of 2015, "Although Katy Perry is still supporting her Prism album across the globe, her manager has confirmed that the pop superstar's fourth full-length is not too far off - as in, it could be here in eight months." In saying that, March 2016 has come and gone and yet there has been no signs of an album. What gives Katy?
Despite no album, the singer did give everyone a surprise when she made her comeback in the summer when she released the song that featured in the coverage of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, 'Rise.'
Katy got tongues wagging last week about a tour next year, when she responded to a Twitter troll in the best possible way. They lashed out at her saying that 'Rise was a flop, and that her career was over.' But Katy was well able for the hate.

Others had a more practical approach to the news...

She can't go on tour without a new album to promote, so this tweet seems to confirm that it may be late but it is certainly on the way.
An album usually comes some collaborations right? Many fans on Twitter have been speculating whether or not there will be one with none other than Taylor Swift. This comes after Katy made headlines saying that she would collaborate with Taylor on the one condition that Taylor apologises for their falling out, over allegations that Katy stole dancers from Taylor during her 'Red' tour.

Taylor has recently surpassed Katy as the most followed celebrity, with 246 million combined followers. Katy has been knocked back to third place with 219 million combined followers.
There has been no official release date for an album or tour, but you can guarantee both will be incredible when they do arrive!
