It has been announced that John Legend will play Jesus Christ in NBC's live production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar.'
Legend has been cast in the title role of the live musical which will air on Easter Sunday next year from New York.
It will be presented as an actual concert with a live audience and the production is based on the 1971 musical which chronicles the last week of Jesus's life.
