Yesterday, the nominations for the 2018 Oscars were announced, and it was noticed that The Disaster Artist was snubbed.

The movie, which stars James Franco, received one nomination for Best Adaptation Screenplay. According to E! News, James is 'somewhat relieved'.

A source told E! News, 'James is disappointed in not getting an Oscar nomination but also very understanding and somewhat relieved. He doesn't want it to look like the snub is correlated with the allegations against him.'

A few weeks ago, allegations were made against James. Two of his accusers appeared on Good Morning America to share their accounts of what happened.

The claims allege a range of inappropriate and exploitative behaviour against his former students. Franco denied the claims.

The insider told E! News, 'James is trying to get through this rocky patch and hopes everything will blow over appropriately. He is really leaning on his family right now and trying to stay under the radar as much as possible.'
