After the massive success of 2016's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, there's no surprise Warner Bros decided to turn this movie into a franchise of its own.
He is everything we know so far about the 2018 sequel.
Back in November, it was revealed that the next installment will be called:
It will be in Irish cinemas on the 16th November 2018.
J.K. Rowling wrote the screenplay
And director David Yates, who directed the four final Harry Potter films, is on board.
I'll know tomorrow morning, when I read the rewritten bits I did today 😱 https://t.co/Cu2ZUICv1X— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) April 26, 2017
The second movie in the franchise will follow a young Albus Dumbledore, who enlists Newt to stop Grindelwald from raising pure-blood wizards to rule over all non-magical beings.
It will be set just a year after than the first, in 1927, and seems to take place in England and Paris.
Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Carmen Ejogo, and Dan Fogler will all return to their previous roles.
Dumbledore returns! This time in the form of Jude Law, who will portray a youthful version of the famous and beloved wizard.
After a fleeting appearance at the end of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Grindelwald will have a central role in this movie.
Although his casting caused lots of controversy, JK Rowling has defended the decision to keep Depp.
Part of the movie will be set at Hogwarts. How exciting!
We see an angry group, possibly from the Ministry of Magic, visit the school while on the hunt for Dumbledore.
